This venerable attraction in front of the Mirage Resort debuted in a completely reworked form on December 8, 2008. Anyone who stands near enough to see it will feel the menacing heat, which is a factor that makes this new version so effective. The musical accompaniment is from legendary Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart and Indian tabla sensation Zakir Hussain, who joined forces with "Fountains of Bellagio" design firm WET to create this audio/visual spectacle.
